Y4iT: Youth for IT 2007

I was a speaker in the Y4iT: Youth for IT 2007 (Philippine Youth Congress in Information Technology) at SM Cinemas 9-12 in SM City North Edsa, Quezon City for the topic, "Emerging Technologies" last September 14. During my talk, I.T. students got a glimpse of new technologies in information management in the fields of nanotechnology, biotechnology, cognitive science, robotics, and artificial intelligence. The convention was scheduled on September 12-14, 2007. Organized by the University of the Philippines Information Technology Center in U.P. Diliman and U.P. System I.T. Foundation, the Y4iT Congress is an annual event that gathers more than 15,000 I.T. nationwide to provide updates in the I.T. industry. The first Y4iT Congress was held in 2003.

When I was socializing with the organizers in the VIP lounge after my talk, Larben Gabud, UPITTC officer, told me that this event was the biggest with more than 20,000 in attendance.

This event was co-organized by Japan International Cooperation Agency, Philippine Society of IT Educators, Computing Society of the Philippines, VCT-IT Student Volunteer Corps.
